The
Calvert County Commission for Women
The Calvert County Commission for Women is the
County's volunteer agency charged with:
-
developing opportunities for women,
-
eliminating barriers that prevent women
from realizing their full potential,
-
and giving recognition to the
contributions of women in Calvert County.
Commission Members seek to frame issues,
identify problems and recommend solutions, including public
policy to enhance the economic self-sufficiency of women,
promote security and safety for families, and empower women of
all ages.
As the voice for women in the county, the
Commission functions as an advocacy agency and information
clearinghouse. Through its publications, women's forums, annual
women's recognition awards, a continuing education scholarship
program, and active participation in community events, the
Commission provides information and referral for services and
advocates on behalf of county residents.
The Commission meets each month on the third
Thursday at 7 p.m. in the conference room at the
County Services Bldg Room
105 in Prince Frederick. Meetings are open to the public.
For more information on
meetings please contact the Chair.
